Clothing
The kind of clothing to be taken is casual / sportswear. T-shirts, sarongs and cotton clothes or linen are the most suitable clothes and more comfortable. We recommend sunscreens (+ 50) and after-sun. Do not forget sunglasses and necessary headgear. The islanders are Muslim therefore we recommend to female clients, only when they are in the village and for the respect of the population, not to turn in costume or clothes too skimpy. For men it is indicated the use of t-shirt, to avoid rather naked torso. In general, we recommend comfortable and casual clothing. We have Private beach there you can wear bikini.
Shopping
Interesting locally produced items such as sarongs and t-shirt often hand-painted, fish colored wood and other craft items. To make purchases on the island use dollars and Rufiyaa (Maldives currency) there is a ATMs in the Bank of Maldives you can take local currency using your credit cards.
Shops of the island you will find cigarettes, souvenirs, products, including European ones, for cleaning personal hygiene; not find any alcohol, since according to the Muslim religion, it is forbidden to drink beverages of this type. It is also forbidden to bring alcohol on the island and there will be seized the bottles if you find in a suitcase at the airport. There are 2 Café’ on the island where it is you can spend after dinner to chat and enjoy a nice hot and cold drink, fizzy drinks.
Currency Rate
The currency of the Maldives is the Rufiyaa (Maldivian Rufiya). The exchange rate with the US dollar time is Rf. 15. 42 for a $ 1. The US dollar is the most commonly used foreign currency.
Health rules
Maldives is not required vaccination. We strongly recommend the use of sunscreen and protective properties, especially the first days of sun exposure, to avoid ruining trivially the holiday with serious burns. In case of serious need of medical care, there is a ‘infirmary for first aid that always guarantees the presence of a doctor; in case of the patient is transferred need Hospital Felidhoo.
Customs
It ‘absolutely prohibited the importation of alcohol, narcotics, psychotropic substances, and meat pork sausages, drugs, pornography, spear guns, weapons, ammunition and explosives of any nature. Even brochures, leaflets, booklets and publications that promote another religion are prohibited. When you returned to country it should be noted that it is absolutely forbidden to carry mother of pearl, coral, shells and sand, taken from the sea and beaches, and export them.
